🔍 Wear (float) and StatTrak™ guide

Wear levels from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, float values and how a StatTrak™ counter affects price.

Updated: 1 November 2026

What is a float value?

In CS2 every skin gets a wear value (float) between 0 and 1 the moment it drops. The lower the number, the cleaner the skin looks; the higher, the more worn. The float decides which wear category a skin belongs to, and it never changes once set.

The five wear levels

Factory New (FN): 0.00–0.07 · Minimal Wear (MW): 0.07–0.15 · Field-Tested (FT): 0.15–0.38 · Well-Worn (WW): 0.38–0.45 · Battle-Scarred (BS): 0.45–1.00. Some skins don't cover the whole range; certain patterns, for example, never come in Battle-Scarred.

The same skin can have very different prices depending on wear. Factory New is usually the most expensive, but on some skins the visual difference from Minimal Wear is small, so the price gap is small too.

Wear on KasaSim

On KasaSim the wear level is rolled every time a skin drops: Factory New 3%, Minimal Wear 24%, Field-Tested 33%, Well-Worn 24%, Battle-Scarred 16%. The price is multiplied accordingly: FN ×1.25, MW ×1.10, FT ×1.00, WW ×0.85, BS ×0.70. So a skin listed at $100 is worth $125 in Factory New and $70 in Battle-Scarred.

What is StatTrak™?

StatTrak™ skins have an orange counter that tracks kills made with that weapon. In the real game, roughly one in ten weapon skins from cases comes as StatTrak™, and they are usually noticeably more expensive than the normal version. Gloves have no StatTrak™ version.

On KasaSim, weapon skins also have a 10% chance to be StatTrak™, which multiplies their value by 1.8. Combined with wear, the most valuable result is a Factory New StatTrak™ skin: 2.25× the catalog price.
